ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola and Wastebuy Delivery Launch “Return for Good” to Scale Up Post-Consumer Packaging Collection and Recycling Across Customer and Community Networks

ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola has expanded its collaboration with Wastebuy Delivery, its partner in post-consumer packaging collection and recycling, with the launch of the “Return for Good” initiative and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote proper sorting, collection and recycling of used packaging. Building on the success of a pilot project with ZEN Group, which involved the collection of used PET bottles and aluminium cans from Coca-Cola products sold at ZEN Group restaurants, along with other recyclable materials, for recycling and upcycling, the initiative will be expanded to other HoReCa customers serving Coca-Cola beverages. The collaboration also extends to the Khlong Toei community, further advancing sustainable packaging management.

Ms. Puntarika Susuntitapong, Vice President - Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability, ThaiNamthip Corporation Public Company Limited, the bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company in Thailand, said: “At ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola, we are committed to operating our business sustainably and choosing to do the right thing for our planet, our communities and our business through our sustainability strategy, ‘Our Choice, Our Future!’. One of our key planet priorities is managing packaging throughout its lifecycle, from designing packaging that uses less plastic and increasing the use of recycled materials in our primary packaging, to making 100% of our primary packaging recyclable. We also work closely with partners to collect used packaging and return it to the recycling system. The launch of ‘Return for Good’ with Wastebuy Delivery enables us to scale up our packaging collection efforts and deliver tangible impact across a broader network. ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola will continue to expand the initiative to other HoReCa customers, extending its reach and increasing the volume of recyclable materials collected.

Beyond our customer network, we have also extended the collaboration to the Khlong Toei community through the Duang Prateep Foundation, where we have established a recycling waste management learning centre. We are also providing funding to increase the purchase rates offered for recyclable packaging, helping create greater incentives for collection, while supporting equipment and tools to make waste sorting safer and more efficient. Through ‘Return for Good’, we aim to build on these achievements by bringing more customers and communities into the network and increasing the volume of used packaging collected and returned to the recycling system.”

Dr. Itthikon Srichanban, Chief Executive Officer of Wastebuy Delivery Co., Ltd., said: “Wastebuy Delivery is pleased to expand our collaboration with ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola through ‘Return for Good’, enabling us to collect greater volumes of recyclable materials, extend our coverage across more locations and reach a broader network of HoReCa operators. One of Wastebuy Delivery’s key strengths is our systematic approach to operations and data collection. We track the volume of recyclable materials collected and measure the resulting impact, enabling us to effectively evaluate performance and use these insights to further scale and develop recycling initiatives. We also have a strong network of partnerships with government agencies and local communities, which enables us to effectively reach households at the community level.

Our collaboration with ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola has enabled us to extend our reach to more than 70 restaurant outlets, while creating further opportunities to collect used packaging and other recyclable materials from HoReCa customers within ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola’s network. This will help encourage businesses, an important part of the economy, to recognise the importance of recycling, while making it easier for them to integrate recyclable waste collection into their day-to-day operations. Together, we aim to contribute to a more efficient and sustainable recycling system in Thailand.”

“Return for Good” is a collaboration between ThaiNamthip Coca-Cola and Wastebuy Delivery that began with a pilot project to collect used packaging from ZEN Group restaurants in April 2025. The initiative was subsequently expanded to community networks through the Duang Prateep Foundation, with recyclable materials collected through the Khlong Toei Waste Management Learning Centre. To date, the initiative has collected more than 84,000 kilograms of recyclable materials, including used beverage packaging such as PET bottles and aluminium cans, as well as other recyclable materials, for recycling. More than 460,000 PET bottles have been sent for recycling, contributing to an estimated reduction of approximately 224,000 kgCO₂e in greenhouse gas emissions — equivalent to planting more than 25,000 trees, according to collection and impact data reported by Wastebuy Delivery.
